The vest came out amazing and your friend looks awesome in it! This is entirely what my day needed, thank you. The spider was absolutely necessary 😊

Am I doing anything for the joy of it? I am still working slowly on my first latch hook project, and I am enjoying it a lot. It's a kit with a very inoffensive picture, and I'm really enjoying dreaming of making my own designs while hooking on this one.

Nice! I really love fibre arts much. It's great that there are so many kits for getting started with different kinds. I have a crochet kit I've been meaning to get to if I can find someone to walk me through it. I tried on my own with youtube instructions, got SO frustrated, and abandoned it. This was over a year ago. :P I've been sticking to embroidery because stabbing stuff is therapeutic and the learning curve is real flat.

*falls out of chair laughing* I'd never before considered embroidery cathartically violent, but now I always will! 😂 That's awesome. I learned to crochet in the fifth grade, on a day when some substitute teacher threw the curriculum to the wind and taught us all. It is really weird, honestly, from how you hold everything to how the way you begin is completely different from how you continue. I tried to pick it up again in adulthood, but I bought nice yarn instead of cheap yarn and I couldn't do it. I also abandoned it! I also don't know how to sew, so while I'm having fun hooking, at some point I'm going to have to back my project and finish off the sides, and I'm hoping I can figure that part out without making a mess of it.

Legit though. I find embroidery super cathartic. :D

The tension for crochet is HARD!

Yup, it makes my hands ache. Even when I was a youngin'. And figuring out how to make the chain links the right size is baffling.
