I absolutely agree with what you have written and would add that in the past we had a different approach to time. It was bound to the natural rhythms, depending on sunlight and the weather. Fields would lie fallow and were allowed to rest. In winter one would to inside jobs, in summer one would be outside, during daylight one would be awake, during night one would sleep. Now we work day and night. Seasons are no longer relevant. That is unhealthy (I don't want to sugarcoat the living conditions of previous ages, they were very harsh, but time was different then). With the Industrial Revolution so much changed.

I try to take it easy. I don't mean to be lazy, but to allow myself to meander through my days. I find hurrying very stressful. I have a game on my iPad which I could play with a timer or without. To play with the timer makes me terribly nervous. Suddenly playtime is no longer relaxing. I know others need the kick of beating time-records, I just want to play.

It is similar with my spiritual practice. I meander through all kinds of teachings, sometimes taking the same path repeatedly and suddenly I see something I had missed before. Since there is no goal it is all about enjoying the journey. And that needs leisure.
