I first tried painting just any old clothing with acrylic when I was a teenager. Once I made a set of t-shirts featuring the Teen Girl Squad (EARLY INTERWEB THROWBACK!) for my sisters-from-another-mister and myself. Eventually I moved on to painting canvas sneakers, because...canvas sneakers. It's so fun to me that acrylic paint works really well on almost any cloth.
And yeah, it's really doing a world of good for my rage-full queer heart these days.
